Χαῖρε! τὸ ὄνομά μοί ἐστιν Alex. I recently graduated with a B.S. in Computer Science from NC State University. I recently began graduate studies at the Catholic University of America in DC, in the department of Greek and Latin. I’m married to a wonderful woman named Brianna: her thoughtful eye reduces many of the typos you’d otherwise see here. This blog follows my trek through the Church Fathers and the Bible, while I try to learn the languages important to that set of literature. I’m particularly fond of John Chrysostom (and early Christian exegesis), but my interests go beyond that too. I love Greek paleography, and I hope to somehow apply my computer skills to the study of ancient literature. This is more than simply an academic interest, since as a Christian I find wonderful spiritual food in the writings of the Fathers. Your comments are welcome, but do please be kind.

Alex, Brian H. pointed me to your site. Let’s reconnect. You might need to help me on my CH101 site.

Happily! As Brian may have mentioned, it was your talk at a fall retreat and the reading list on CH101 that started me down the path I’m on now.
